Which devices are supported?

Offline AI Notebook runs its AI entirely on your device, with two engines to choose from in Settings: Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro or later, enabled in iOS Settings) or the built-in on-device open model (Qwen 3), which works on any iPhone with 6 GB or more of RAM, no Apple Intelligence required. Choosing the on-device engine triggers a one-time model download (~2.2 GB, with your explicit consent); after that everything works offline. If you see an unsupported screen, your device has too little memory for either engine. There is no workaround, and no data is uploaded.

What files can I import?

PDFs (including scanned documents, recognized with on-device OCR), plain text, and Markdown files, plus audio: record a lecture, meeting, or voice memo in the app, or import an audio file (m4a, mp3, wav). Speech is transcribed entirely on your device by a built-in open speech model (a one-time download with your explicit consent; choose Accurate or Fast in Settings). Audio never leaves your iPhone. Organize everything into topics. The free version includes two topics with all features fully functional.

I bought Unlimited but it's not unlocked.

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases. If the unlock still doesn't appear, email us. Purchase issues are often resolved by Apple, and we can help you open a report with them.

How do I delete my data?

All topics, imported documents, quizzes, Q&A history, and progress are stored only on your device. You can delete individual documents, questions, or whole topics in the app. Deleting the app permanently removes everything. There is nothing stored on our servers because we have none.

Does the app keep working with a locked phone?

Yes. In-app recordings keep capturing while your phone is locked (iOS shows its standard recording indicator), and transcription continues in the background with live progress on the Lock Screen. If transcription is interrupted it resumes where it stopped. Afterwards, open the app once so the on-device search index can finish. Answers and quizzes unlock when it completes.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. All AI generation runs on your device, so Offline AI Notebook works fully offline. No internet connection is needed at any point.

I lost my progress. Can you restore it?

Unfortunately not. Your library and progress are stored exclusively on your device and are never backed up or synced to us, so we have no copy to restore. This is a deliberate privacy choice.
