Privacy Policy for Offline Receipts
The short version
Offline Receipts is a receipt-scanning app for iOS. All text recognition happens entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, store, or sell any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
What the app does on your device
- On-device OCR. Receipt photos you scan or import are processed locally by Apple's Vision framework. The text is read on your iPhone. The image and the recognized text never leave your device.
- Local storage. Your receipts, extracted fields, edits, and receipt images are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData). This data is never synced or uploaded, and it is permanently deleted if you delete the app.
- CSV export you control. When you tap Export to CSV, the file is created on your device and shared only through the standard iOS share sheet, to the destination you choose. We never see it.
Camera and photo library access
- Camera. Used only to photograph receipts when you tap "Take Photo". Photos are processed on-device and stored locally.
- Photo library. Offline Receipts uses the standard iOS photo picker, which runs out-of-process: the app only ever receives the single photo you explicitly select, and never has access to the rest of your library.
Network access
The app does not connect to any server we operate, because we do not run any. Offline Receipts performs no network activity for its features, scanning, parsing, storage, and export all work fully offline.
Data we do not collect
- No personal information (name, email, location, contacts, etc.)
- No usage analytics, crash reports, or diagnostics
- No advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking
- No receipt images, recognized text, or expense data
Third-party services
None. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud-processing SDKs. The only frameworks involved are Apple's, and they run on your device.
Children's privacy
The app does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13, and is suitable for use without providing any personal information.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at lanewayoasis.com/offlinereceipts/privacy with a new effective date. Since the app collects no data and has no way to contact you, we encourage you to check this page after updates.
