Frequently asked questions

The scan got a field wrong. What can I do?

Every extracted field is editable. Open the receipt, correct the vendor, date, total, or tax, and your changes are saved automatically. For best OCR results, photograph the receipt flat, straight-on, and in good light.

How do I export my receipts?

Tap the share button on the home screen to export your full receipt history as a CSV file (vendor, date, total, tax). It opens in the standard iOS share sheet, so you can send it to Numbers, Excel, your files, or your accountant.

How do I move my receipts to a new iPhone?

Export your history to CSV on the old phone, then on the new one tap the import button on the home screen and choose that file. Your receipts are restored, and anything already on the device is skipped automatically, so re-importing is always safe.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. All text recognition runs on your device via Apple's Vision framework, so Offline Receipts works fully offline. No internet connection is needed at any point.

How do I delete my data?

Swipe to delete individual receipts, or delete the app to remove everything permanently. Data is stored only on your device. There is nothing stored on our servers because we have none.

I lost my receipts. Can you restore them?

Unfortunately not. Receipts are stored exclusively on your device and are never backed up or synced to us, so we have no copy to restore. This is a deliberate privacy choice.
